…not yet at the point of trying to replace current income source with earnings from writing.
Having said that, I understand the challenge of being self-employed , as my (paying) job is in the real estate business.
I’ll totally agree that having a ‘structure’, or some form of organization to direct your efforts is critical. Everyone starting out, in a self-employment situation, runs into the ‘pipeline problem’, i.e. making sure that new business is being developed on a steady on-going basis, to assure a predictable flow of work/income.

I still gots a ways to go before I get good enough at this writin’ thing to quit my day job! loll

Julie DeNeed had a good Post a short time ago, exploring the differences between a niche and a personal blog. Being in the former, I have both the luxury of dictating what I write about and the horror of having ‘one subject to write about’ lol

I agree freelancing is fun and you can be the boss. The writer can write his/her heart out and feel so good at the end of the day. To get a positive message across to the community is the best deal of all for me.
